Updates in Margin Status and Lymph Node Dissection



 

Recently published guidelines for margin width in breast conserving therapy are reviewed along with the most up to date recommendations for the management of the axilla in breast cancer. The importance of a team approach to the patient with breast cancer is also emphasized.

Neumayer, MD, MS, internationally known for her expertise in breast cancer surgery and research, advocacy for women’s health issues and leadership in surgical education, has been named head of the University of Arizona College of Medicine's Department of Surgery and the Margaret E. and Fenton L. Maynard Endowed Chair in Breast Cancer Research.
