Dr. Factor is an associate professor of surgical pathology and cytopathology at the University of Utah and a medical director at ARUP Laboratories. She is the Director of breast pathology and the Co-Director of the cytology fellowship program. Factor is a Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) investigator and participates in HCI's Cancer, Cell Response and Regulation group (CCR), the breast treatment planning conference, and the Women's Disease Oriented Team (WDOT). Dr. Factor is certified by the American Board of Pathology.
Dr. Factor's research focus is in breast pathology and cytopathology. She collaborates with basic scientists, clinicians, and epidemiologists on a range of studies from the molecular basis of breast cancer to improvements in imaging modalities for screening and treatment. Dr. Factor enjoys mentoring residents and fellows, and has seen many successfully present research at national meetings.
Dr. Factor completed her medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, followed by residency and fellowships at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.
