Practical Molecular Pathology: GI tract
This lecture will focus on three areas of practical molecular pathology for the gastrointestinal (GI) tract:
- PD-L1 testing in the gastrointestinal tract, with practical information on ordering criteria, interpretation and specimen submission for testing. This will focus on the recent FDA approval of PD-L1 testing for immunotherapy in gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas, as well as other indications for testing and treatment in other GI malignancies.
- Molecular pathology of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), with emphasis on the spectrum of genetic alterations seen in GISTs, and their management implications.
- Her2 testing in gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas, with emphasis on the current CAP-ASCP-ASCO guidelines.
