Improvement Engineer, ARUP Laboratories
Dillan Jelitto obtained his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Utah State University in 2018. Dillan was hired onto the Improvement Engineering department in the facilities division and has been working for ARUP for nearly 4 years. While working closely with facilities, he completed several lab spatial designs to improve workflow. The Improvement Engineering team was later moved under the Quality Department to better align their purpose with Quality and the 5 Pillars of ARUP.
During his time at ARUP, Dillan has spent much of it training and mentoring staff on improvement methodologies of Lean Six Sigma. Dillan completed his Six Sigma Green Belt certification in 2020 and is working on getting his Black Belt certification.
When not mentoring students, Dillan designs custom solutions and engineering controls to help improve workflow in the laboratories. Trained in computer simulation modeling, he assists the Automation Engineering team in planning and executing automation projects, including the recently built 1.4 miles of conveyance equipment in ARUP’s newest building.
