Laboratory Diagnosis of Hemoglobinopathies and Thalassemia

This presentation will review the pathophysiology, clinical and laboratory findings, and recent advances in the field of hemoglobinpathies and thalassemias. It will also highlight laboratory testing methodologies including high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), capillary electrophoresis, and molecular analysis to diagnose thalassemias.
