Target Audience: This activity has been designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals, specifically medical laboratory scientists.

P.A.C.E.® approved programs are accepted by the ASCP-BOC for recertification, and for license renewal in all licensure states except Florida.


Objectives:
  • Describe the Lewis system in terms of genetic interactions, the formation and secretion of Lewis antigens, clinical significance of antibodies produced, and transient phenotypes.
  • Given results of a secretor inhibition study, correctly interpret whether substances are present or not present. Based on these results, apply your knowledge of gene interaction to identify the likely Le, Se, and ABH genes present.

Method of Participation: To receive a statement of credit, you must:

  1. Watch the video in its entirety
  2. Successfully complete the video post-test (80% or higher)
  3. Submit certificate completion information
  4. Complete the course evaluation
